Ending a home based business – what are the tax implications?
Wednesday, July 14th, 2010I’ve been writing off my home based business for the last few years. If I stop using that portion of my home solely for my business, how do I indicate that on my taxes?
Additionally, does anyone know of any resources that indicate what the implications are of stopping a home based business write-off?
I see lots of information on how/what to write-off for a home based business, but can’t seem to find anything on what to do when that ends.

Can I get TX Home exemption for my second home?
Thursday, July 1st, 2010My husband and I are planning to buy a house that is neared by my workplace. We do not want to put out for sale on our current home until we find a new home which means there are going to be a period time that we will be owning two houses at the same time. We are thinking of taking my name out from the current home and using my name only for the new home, so we can get home exemption for both houses. Would that work?

Can I take out a home loan for land and a manufactured loan?
Sunday, June 27th, 2010By home loan I mean a home loan and not a personal property loan like on a trailer home/manufactured home in a trailer court. I qualified for a home loan and I want to keep it cheap, so I want to purchase a piece of land and a manufactured home. Wil this work as a home loan if its on private land?
Wow, there is quite the array of scams out there! Why would anyone take out a loan from the internet without talking to someone face to face?

Can you sell a home with vivid interior paint colors?
Friday, June 25th, 2010Hi. I have a home that was new construction. It was originally painted white. I absolutely hate white and tan walls. All of the rooms have color, and when I say color I mean eggplant purple, red, hunter green…The home’s floorplan is very boxy, each room is a box and there aren’t many halls, so character definition is paramount. If the home was just white, or tan, it would be one large big box. Plus, I am a ‘vivid’ person so I wanted my home to reflect who I am, not following the latest trend. I’ve read that such colors are a turnoff to buyers. Is that true? I don’t want to repaint it tan when it is time to sell because it would cost thousands (the home is over 4500 sq ft). It has been my understanding, at least for me personally, that what helps sell a home is if the buyer sees something in it that they like. There’s got to be people who can appreciate color.

Buying a manufactured home that is not in a community?
Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010I have placed an offer on a manufactured home in good condition, built in the 70s. The home seems like a good investment because the area is very nice, it is NOT in a manufactured/mobile home community, and nothing about the home feels or looks like a stereotypical manufactured home (thin walls, etc.).
Does all this make a difference in the resale value, since the home is on a normal residential street?
Thanks.

Why is home insurance limited to each and every different type of disaster?
Saturday, June 19th, 2010The home is either livable or NOT livable…it matters NOT what disaster ruined the home..
Why then is it that you have to pay extra for each different type of circumstance? An accident is an accident…. a disaster is a disaster… the home can only be burned, flooded, distroyed by earthquake / tornado / hurricaine ONCE.. why pay for all the different ways insurance-wise?
How covered is covered? And WHY !!!! Why?? Is it if you Never have any type of claim you aren’t refunded some of that money you spend year after year after year?
Again, once you’ve paid in insurance the amount of the home value.. what difference does it make if you replaced the home ‘money-wise’ already in insurance premiums? Why not spend those premiums on a second home instead?
Just shooting in the dark here of the many complaints I have heard ranted from my elders recently.. their solutions were hysterical.. I’d love to hear more solutions.

Home…..?
Thursday, June 17th, 2010I moved from Ireland to Portugal when I was 10 years old against my will. I just turned 14 (02 April =] =]) recently. So it’s been about 3 and a half years now. I still long to move back and despise it here in Portugal. I miss Ireland like crazy (not so much Ireland, but the town I grew up in). I dislike everything about Portugal; from the roads, to the buildings, to the people, to the whether, to school, etc.
Whenever I think about the fact that I may not get to move back for many many years, I begin to have a sort of panic attack.
Therefore, I’m always just pretending and imagining that I’m going to move back to Ireland before I turn 15. It’s really weird, I imagine the friends I’ll have, and school, and what I’ll do and where I’ll go and basically just imagine another life in Ireland, because I’m so miserable here. I know it’s not healthy, and it sounds weird, but really, I’m not crazy xD
When will I get over this home-sickness?

Benefits Of Bathroom Exhaust Fans
Saturday, August 29th, 2009Making your bathroom function properly requires you to have different pieces of hardware installed. You need to install a toilet, sink, shower and bath tub. One vital piece of equipment in our bathroom is the bath fan we use. Most people forget about the exhaust fan when remodeling their bathroom, however they really are very important. These fans help to circulate the air and remove any unwanted smells, they will also remove the steam from the bathroom before it has chance to condense on the mirrors. Their another benefit is that they will protect your shower curtains from mold and mildew. To separate yourself from the world and relax completely, exhaust fans can be used.
{Most public restrooms do not have any form of fan installed|A big number of public restrooms doesn’t use a bathroom fan}. Many large public restrooms have an odor spray which goes off every so often to remove unwanted smells from the room. Smell control is tough to find, in any form, when it comes too smaller restrooms! Where you go to the toilet is actually all it depends on. A bathroom fan should be installed in the establishemt you are using, that is if there is a desire that you feel more comfortable in there.
{It’s very common for a married couple to have separate bathrooms from the rest of the house|There are many couples that use separate bathrooms, the ones that other house guests use}. You should install exhaust fan if you are sharing your bathroom with a spouse.
There are solution like two toilets in shared bathrooms, but even if you decide for this option, it is still recommended that you use a bathroom exhaust fan in there. There are a lot of men that are not allowed to enter a main bathroom simply because they are too smelly! The chance is that they will be forced into a powder room.
Since women spend a lot more time in the bathroom then men do, it’s important that they have a good atmosphere in there. Many people are investing in creating separate bathrooms so that the two don’t bother each other. There is a rumor that you can save a marriage if you have a separate bathrooms in home!
