Majority opinion seems to be that soft drinks are by definition unhealthy. But might this be a myth?

In the United States, we have flavored carbonated drinks which we call soda pop. The carbonation process is what makes soda pop “fizz.”.

It is the amount of dissolved CO2 that produces carbonic acid in drinks, affecting the quality and different tastes of various carbonated drinks, including soda pops and soft drinks. Click here for more carbonated water information.

In many soft drinks, carbonation is used to give these drinks their distinctive taste. That fizzy taste is caused by diluted carbonic acid and not caused by the bubbles, as many believe.

Carbonated water, also known as sparkling water, is plain water into which CO2 gas has been dissolved, and is the main ingredient of most “soft drinks” or “soda pop”.

In the past, such drinks could be produced at home by putting water in a seltzer bottle, and then adding CO2. Club soda, often identical to plain carbonated water, may sometimes contain a small amount of salt or trace minerals. These may cause a salty taste in home-made soda pop. Add some drops of concentrated flavors and what do you have? Soda pop.

If it has enough minerals, the drink is classified as sparkling water. A big assortment of calorie-free flavors to flavor sparkling water to great taste is sold at allfreightfree.com. Instead of drinking so much soda pop, this could be a great option for your family.

Carbonated drinks made into soda pop can be a calorie-free way to make sure your family drinks plenty of water; after all, we all know that the better drinks taste, the more kids will drink, and the more your kids drink, the healthier it is for your family.

Members of your family playing sports will find this flavored drink helps make sure they stay properly hydrated while exercising. This has been an extremely hot summer; but heat or no heat, most colleges and high schools have begun two-a-day football practices. Perhaps, football mom, you could provide the team flavored carbonated drinks and make sure everyone drinks the amounts that they need and stays well-hydrated.The kids will love you and perhaps the coach will too. Maybe this would be a fun project for your football booster club to take on.

The oppressive summer heat has made drinking water extremely important – in fact, it has made it a dangerous summer even for Texas which is used to hot summers. However, we are not accustomed to 100-degrees-plus temperatures day after humid day; it is elderly people and infants who are especially vulnerable.

It is plain that not all “soda pop” is the same. So, you and your kids might find flavored carbonated drinks to be a good option; maybe your elderly neighbor might, too. We are, after all, our brothers’ keepers.
